Welcome to Double Y Ranch, our home is located 20 minutes east of High River in a small hamlet of Brant, Alberta. We have purchased 47 acres along side the hamlet of Brant, Alberta. We are hoping this year that we can get our outdoor riding arena set up and start using it. We are also hoping that we can get a flag set up so that Bernie can practice with Skip at home.
The horse you see on the start of our website is our gelding Cowboy . Cowboy is a horse that people look longingly at and we have had anywhere from a 2 year old on him to my 70 year old Uncle who up until a couple of years ago had never been on a horse in his life. While visiting with us he took the opportunity to go for a ride with Bernie checking fences. Cowboy is a awesome horse and we treasure him dearly. .
We purchased our stallion "Skip to My Lucky" from Norm Podesky, and hope to show Skip in aged WCH events in the near future. We have changed our breeding program to include pedigrees with Working Cow Horse, Reining, and Cutting. Skip's pedigree has over $224,000 in Lifetime Earnings with the National Cutting Horse Association. Skip is also an approved Stallion with APHA .
In 2007 we have been lucky enough to have two outside breedings to Smart Lena Boon an Own Son of Smart Little Lena and Grandsire on the bottom Peptoboonsmal. Bernie and I would also personally like to thank Lil Red Ranch from Olds, Alberta. Without their support with their mare"Eagle" our little Lucky on the foal page would not have survived. You are all wonderful people and I am proud to know you all.
